This site facilitates direct connection to the Oneida Lake Watershed Management Plan and its related publications. It’s a fascinating site, offering documents that discuss the lake’s biology, demographics, economy, politics, and more. An excellent read.

This site’s creator digitized over 18,000,000 (we aren’t kidding) pages from Central New York’s extant and existing newspapers. You can uncover a treasure trove of Oneida Lake articles. Try to be very specific in your search terminology. For example, searching for “Oneida Lake” will yield thousands of hits, but the Boolean search “Oneida Lake and shipwrecks” will produce 33. Experiment with word combinations and be ready to discover some fascinating history.

Glenn Coin’s Oneida Lake blog (2009) is archived here. Coin assembled the blog while on the paper’s Madison County staff. His thorough coverage of the lake scene is missed today.
